Efes Beverage Group is a system
of companies producing and marketing beer, malt and
soft drinks across the geography of Turkey, Russia,
the CIS countries and Southeast Europe. Besides conducting
the Groups's brewing and malting operations in Turkey,
Anadolu Efes is the owner of the Group's international
brewing and soft-drinks operations and therefore acts
as the holding company of the Efes Beverage Group.
The Group is also the largest local shareholder of
the Coca-Cola franchise in Turkey.
Today, Anadolu Efes is the leader of the Turkish beer
market with 76% share. The company operates 5 breweries,
two malt production plants, one hop production facility
and a sales/marketing company, delivering an annual
brewing capacity of 9.2 million hectolitres and an annual
malt production capacity of approximately 100,000 tonnes.
In 2002, Anadolu Efes's sales volume increased by 5%
and reached a level of 6 million hectoliters. The company's
CAGR by volume over the last 10 years is recorded as
6%.
While "Efes Pilsen" has
become synonymous with beer in Turkey, the company
also serves its consumers with other popular flavours
such as Efes Light, Efes Dark and Efes Extra, and
keeps enlarging its brand portfolio in Turkey with
additions such as Miller Genuine Draft (MGD) and Beck's,
both having joined the group under license agreements.
