Efes
Beverage Group's international beer system consists
of breweries, malteries, and sales/ distribution companies
as well as companies to provide technical and management
consulting, located under the roof of EBI.
As of 2003, EBI owns and operates a total of seven
breweries outside Turkey; in Rostov& Moscow- Russia,
Almaty & Karaganda-Kazakhstan, Ploiesti-Romania,
Odessa-Ukraine and Chisinau-Moldova and 2 malteries
in Moscow and Karaganda. In a relatively short period
of time, EBI has developed a valuable brewing business
in its operating theatre, from the Adriatic Sea to
the Great Wall of China, reaching a total brewing
capacity of 7.0 million hectoliters and annual malt
production capacity of 50,000 tonnes. In 2002, the
company's sales volume increased by 27% and reached
a level of 318 million liters. The share of international
beer sales volume (including Turkish originated export
sales) as of 2002-end, has increased to 37% of the
total beer sales of the Groups vis-à-vis 33% as of
2001-end.
In addition to Efes Pilsener, that is enjoyed in
over 35 markets globally, the Group offers a wide
variety of local brands with different tastes and
appeal in international markets. Currently Stary Melnik
in Russia, Chernomor in Ukraine, Karagandinskoe in
Kazakhstan, Caraiman in Romania and Vitanta in Moldova
are the local brands that contribute to ultimate success
of Efes Beverage Group in the international arena.
Efes Beverage Group also produces the leading German
brand "Warsteiner Premium Verum" under licence
in Russia.
